The booklet must be stamped to be valid and residents must abide by the laws regarding rations or face treason. -

A ration booklet (War Ration Book No. 3) with tickets for Catherine M. Black, a 40 year old housewife, and Louis Black, a 47 year old City Fireman. Without a stamp the booklet would be invalid, and the instructions on the back equate altering the ration booklets to treason during the war effort. The stamp authorizes you to purchase rationed goods in the quantities and at the times designated by the Office of Price Administration. -
